How long does a Google Workspace → Microsoft 365 migration take?

For 50 users, we complete the full migration in 48 hours: tenant provisioning and DNS prep on Day 1, mailbox + Drive migration runs overnight, and the MX cutover happens during a pre-agreed low-traffic window. Zero email lost — we run parallel MX delivery during cutover. For 10-user migrations, plan one business day end-to-end.

What gets migrated? Just Gmail or everything?

We migrate the full workspace: Gmail (with folder/label structure), Google Drive (with folder hierarchy and shared drives), Contacts, Calendars (including shared), Google Meet recordings, and Sites. File permissions are re-mapped to SharePoint/OneDrive. Chat history from Google Chat is exported to Teams where possible (Google-side API limitations apply).

Will my users lose email during the cutover?

No. We run parallel MX delivery during the migration window — both Gmail and Exchange receive mail for 24-48 hours. Once mailbox sync is complete, we flip MX to Exchange and delete the Gmail routing. Users experience zero downtime and zero lost messages.

Why migrate from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365?

Common reasons: (1) line-of-business apps (AutoCount, SQL Accounting) integrate better with Outlook; (2) Excel-heavy finance/accounting teams prefer desktop Office; (3) Teams adoption for partnerships with M365-shop clients; (4) Intune MDM for hybrid work policies; (5) Copilot licensing. Can you also migrate IN the other direction — M365 to Google Workspace?

What about Google Workspace add-ons and third-party integrations?

We inventory all installed Marketplace add-ons before migration and map each to M365 equivalents (e.g. DocuSign, HelloSign, Zapier, Slack). For critical integrations that don't exist on M365, we recommend staying on Google Workspace or adopting hybrid.
