Apple’s answer to a failed Thunderbolt controller, a cracked Mini LED assembly or a dead charging rail is to replace the whole board or the whole unit. We repair at component level — the controller chip, the individual capacitor, the charging circuit — which is why a machine quoted as unrepairable is often still worth saving.
It is also why board work is quoted after diagnosis and not before: the fault has to be found on the board before anyone can price it.

Base M5 14-inch (2025), M5 Pro/Max 14- and 16-inch (2026), M4 through M1, and Intel Retina generations are identified separately for accurate repair intake.
The ten amber models — every M4 and M5 variant — are diagnosed and repaired, but parts availability and price are confirmed only after we verify the exact variant, so we do not publish a figure for them.

Logic Board Repair
No power, GPU failure, liquid damage. Component-level work on Apple Silicon and Intel boards — the fault has to be found before it can be priced.
Keyboard Replacement
Butterfly failures and scissor-switch faults. On 2016-2019 the repair is a full top case, and it includes a new battery.
Water Damage Repair
Ultrasonic cleaning and board-level repair. Do not power it on — bring it in exactly as it is, as fast as you can.
SSD Upgrade
Compatible Intel Pros only, confirmed against your exact model. Apple Silicon storage sits on the logic board and cannot be upgraded.
Trackpad Repair
Force Touch dead, not clicking, or gestures ignored. Replaced and recalibrated the same day.
Speaker Repair
Crackle, distortion, or no output. Fits every Pro generation, and it is the smallest job on this page.
Flexgate / Display Cable
“Stage light” scallops along the bottom of the screen, or a backlight that dies as you open the lid. 2016-2017 Pros.

COMMON MACBOOK PRO ISSUES
The Pro has failure patterns the Air does not — dual fans, Mini LED panels, Thunderbolt controllers. Each card names the generations it applies to, so you can skip the ones that are not yours.
Battery Swelling
Lithium polymer cells expand as they age, pushing up the trackpad and palm rest. A visibly raised trackpad is the warning sign, and left alone the swelling can crack the display from underneath. Same-day replacement.
Thunderbolt / USB-C Port Issues
All charging, display output and Thunderbolt devices pass through two or four ports. Bent pins, port damage and controller-chip failure are common. We repair the controller at board level as well as replacing ports.
Mini LED Display Failure
The 14" and 16" Mini LED panels show local-dimming artefacts — blooming around bright objects on dark backgrounds — and full panel failures. Replaced as a complete assembly with the same ProMotion and HDR behaviour.
Butterfly Keyboard Failure
The butterfly mechanism is Apple's most failure-prone keyboard: one dust particle makes a key stick, repeat, or die. There is no per-key fix — the reliable repair is a complete top case, which brings a new keyboard, battery and trackpad.
Flexgate — Display Flex Cable
A short display cable wears through with lid movement, giving the “stage light” scallops along the bottom of the screen, then total backlight loss. If the symptom changes as you open the lid, mention it — that detail identifies it.
M-Series Thermal Throttling
M-series Pro and Max chips can generate substantial heat under sustained workloads. Diagnostics distinguish normal fan activity from blocked airflow, fan faults, battery issues, or board-level thermal problems — four different repairs.
Fan Noise / Fan Failure
The 14" and 16" carry dual fans that collect dust, which shows up as grinding or rattling. A failed fan triggers thermal shutdowns. We replace fans individually and clean the heatsink assembly.
