Screen lifting away from the body? That is probably not a screen problem.

Screen separating from iPad body, visible gap around edges. Often caused by battery swelling or adhesive failure. Needs immediate inspection to prevent further damage. Replacing the screen without dealing with the battery means it happens again — and a swollen cell is a safety issue. Stop charging it and start on the battery page instead.

Will the Apple Pencil still work afterwards?

Can you replace just the glass?
On most iPads the glass and digitizer are bonded together, so the assembly is the replaceable part. Separating them is possible in theory and unreliable in practice — it is where touch dead zones and colour problems come from, so we do not offer it.
Is my data safe?
Yes. A screen replacement does not touch your storage — no wipe, no restore, no passcode needed. We still suggest an iCloud backup beforehand as good practice for any hardware work.
My screen is lifting at the edge — is that a screen repair?
Usually not. A gap around the edge is normally a swelling battery pushing the display out of the frame, which is a battery job and a safety issue. Stop charging it, and start with iPad battery replacement instead — we will assess the screen as part of that.
