One-off workshop cooling service
Diagnose overheating, fan noise and thermal throttling before deciding whether the laptop needs cooling-system cleaning, suitable thermal material replacement, or a separate hardware repair.
Dust, software load, fan wear, heatsink damage and board faults can create similar symptoms. A thermal overhaul is not automatically the correct repair.
01
Record the model, reported symptoms, physical condition and observable thermal behaviour.
02
Open the device where serviceable and inspect vents, fans, heatsink seating and visible contamination.
03
Clear accessible cooling paths and replace suitable thermal interface material using TechFix-supplied materials where the assessment supports it.
04
Reassemble the device and compare its observable behaviour under an appropriate test workload.
05
Document observations and separately quote any fan, heatsink or hardware repair that is required.
The intake confirms suitability and prevents a cleaning service from being sold where a different repair is needed.
Workshop intake request
Tell us the model and symptoms. TechFix will normally respond within one business day, after reviewing the request and before confirming service suitability, price, parts or timing.
