Official service centre vs independent repair

Dell Service Centre Malaysia vs Independent Repair

A Dell laptop that is still in warranty, or on a support plan you bought, should go through official Dell support first. After cover ends, TechFix is an independent option, with a transparent quote before any repair starts.

  • Out-of-warranty repairs
  • Quote before any repair
  • Courier in, free courier back

TechFix is an independent repair provider, not an authorised service centre for Dell.

Which should you choose for your Dell laptop?

Start from what covers the laptop today, then decide.

Use official Dell support first if

  • Your Inspiron, XPS, Latitude, Vostro or G-series is still in warranty
  • You bought a Dell support or accidental-damage plan with it
  • A company support contract covers your Latitude or Vostro
  • You want the repair handled under Dell's own terms

TechFix makes sense if

  • The Dell warranty and any support plan have ended
  • You pay for the repair yourself and want the price before any work
  • You can walk in at Sunway, or courier in and have it couriered back free
  • You need a battery, screen, keyboard or charging port replaced

The official Dell service route

Dell's Malaysian support site handles service through service requests and dispatch status, self-repair and parts, and it has a guide to scheduling an out-of-warranty repair. We did not find a walk-in service-centre locator there, so no addresses are listed.

Service centres listed by Dell

We have not copied any service-centre addresses onto this page, because addresses and opening hours change. Use the official locator for the current list.

Official service-centre details last checked 2 October 2026 on Dell's Malaysian support site.

These are named on Dell's own pages. Terms, eligibility and what is covered are the brand's to decide.

How a TechFix repair works

Four steps, and you approve the price before any repair work starts.

  1. Bring it or courier it in

Walk in at our Sunway workshop, or courier the device to us (Lalamove and Grab also work). There is no free pickup. We courier it back to you free.

  2. Diagnosis

A technician finds the fault. The diagnosis fee is RM100, and it is waived in full when you approve the repair quote.

  3. Transparent quote

You get the quote before any repair starts. If you decline, nothing is repaired. TechFix supplies all parts.

  4. Repair and return

We confirm the turnaround at diagnosis and do not promise same-day. Repairs carry a 90-day TechFix warranty.

Dell service centre vs independent repair: common questions

Will a TechFix repair affect my Dell warranty or support plan?

It can affect the brand's warranty terms, and that is Dell's decision. If your laptop is still covered, use official Dell support. If the warranty and any plan have ended, there is nothing left to affect.

My Dell laptop is a company machine. Where should it go?

Ask your IT team first, because a company support contract may decide the route. If your company is paying for an out-of-warranty repair, TechFix can quote after diagnosis.

Does TechFix repair Dell XPS and Inspiron laptops?

Yes, once out of warranty: batteries, screens, keyboards, charging ports and SSD upgrades. TechFix supplies all parts, and the quote follows diagnosis.

Can TechFix recover files from my Dell laptop?

No. TechFix does not recover data. Back up before any repair, because jobs such as an SSD replacement wipe the drive.

How much is the TechFix diagnosis for a Dell device?

RM100. It is waived in full when you approve the repair quote. If you decline the quote, the diagnosis fee applies.

Does TechFix pick up my Dell device?

There is no free pickup. You walk in at Sunway (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM), or courier the device to us (Lalamove and Grab also work). Once it is repaired, we courier it back to you free.
