Creator laptops with a full-size keyboard. We confirm the exact part for your unit before ordering.
First, try an external USB keyboard. If that types normally, Windows is fine and the fault is in the built-in one. These are the usual signs.
One key, a row or a whole block stays dead. A single key can be a worn contact, while a block usually points to the keyboard cable or the board.
Letters appear twice, or a key stays down. Crumbs, dried drinks and a worn switch are common causes.
Switch off at once, unplug the charger and do not run it to see if it dries out. Liquid can reach the board, so bring it in soon.
The keys type but the lighting is off, patchy or stuck on one colour. It can be the keyboard or a setting, and we test both.
It works in the BIOS but not in Windows, or the other way round. This helps us separate a driver problem from a hardware one.
Phantom typing or a cursor that moves alone. A raised or damaged top case can cause it, so we check inside.
