Evidence-gated business erasure assessment

Secure Data Erasure Malaysia

Scope business-device erasure by media type, condition, reuse goal and evidence requirement before any method, tool, certificate or compliance outcome is promised.

  • Classify each device and data-bearing medium before work
  • Select a feasible erasure or exception path for the actual hardware
  • Define serial-level records and evidence before accepting the scope

Scope and process

What to assess before the work starts.

01

Laptop and desktop erasure

Computer erasure depends on the installed drive, device condition, firmware access and intended reuse.

  • Windows, macOS and Linux devices assessed by model and storage type
  • HDD, SATA SSD and NVMe media identified before method selection
  • Failed, locked or inaccessible devices move to an exception path rather than a false pass

02

Server and storage erasure

Enterprise media requires a planned outage, inventory and dependency review.

  • Standalone servers, RAID sets, storage appliances and loose drives scoped separately
  • Controller, encryption, drive ownership and reuse requirements recorded
  • Production shutdown, access and customer-authorisation conditions agreed in advance

03

Mobile and tablet erasure

Mobile-device handling depends on platform support, management state and account locks.

  • iOS, iPadOS and Android eligibility assessed by device and operating-system state
  • MDM enrolment, activation locks and corporate account dependencies identified
  • Factory reset alone is not represented as verified erasure without supporting evidence

04

Method selection

No single erasure method is suitable for every drive or device.

  • Media capability, health and accessibility
  • Reuse, return, disposal or destruction destination
  • Customer policy and required verification fields

05

Inventory and chain of custody

Every accepted asset must remain traceable through handoffs and exceptions.

  • Asset tag, device serial and media serial where readable
  • Authorised collection or onsite handoff record
  • Receiving reconciliation, quarantine and exception status

06

Evidence and reporting design

The proposal confirms what the selected process can actually record.

  • Device and media identifiers, timestamps, result and exception reason
  • Method and tool-generated fields only where the approved workflow produces them
  • Sample reports are illustrative and do not promise a certificate or compliance outcome

07

Failed and inaccessible media

A device that cannot complete the approved method is never silently marked successful.

  • Failed verification remains an exception
  • Physical destruction requires a separately verified delivery process
  • TechFix does not provide deleted-file data recovery

08

Onsite and offsite assessment

Location changes the equipment, access, custody and evidence model.

  • Onsite power, workspace, network and security requirements
  • Offsite packing, transport and receiving controls
  • Coverage and scheduling confirmed only after site review

09

Commercial scope

Pricing follows the actual media mix and evidence requirement.

  • Quantity, device family, drive type and condition
  • Onsite or offsite delivery, locations and deadline
  • Inventory quality, reporting depth and exception handling

Scope boundaries before quotation

Assessment confirms compatibility, delivery ownership, timing, dependencies and price.

  • • No blanket certificate, regulatory compliance, sanitisation standard or tool capability is promised before the devices and delivery process are verified.
  • • A reset, format or deletion is not described as verified erasure unless the approved process produces evidence for that device and media.
  • • Physical destruction, transport, downstream disposal and environmental claims require separately approved delivery ownership.
  • • Dates, onsite coverage, pricing and evidence fields are confirmed only in an accepted written proposal.
  • • Do not submit passwords, access keys, personal data or confidential file contents through this form.

Frequently asked questions

Will every device receive a certificate?

No blanket certificate is promised. The proposal states which device-level report or evidence fields the verified method can produce and how failures are recorded.

Do you guarantee compliance with a named standard?

No. Share the policy or standard you need assessed. TechFix will confirm the supported method, evidence, delivery ownership and gaps before accepting the work.

What happens when a drive cannot be erased?

It remains an exception and is not marked successful. A separately verified destruction or return path can then be proposed.
