Power Off Now
Hold the power button until it shuts down. Do not tap it to see whether it still works — that is what turns a recoverable spill into a dead board.
Disconnect Everything
Unplug the charger, the Type Cover and any dock. Current running through a wet board is what causes shorts.
Dry the Exterior
Wipe the outside and stand it on edge so liquid runs away from the ports rather than deeper into the chassis.
Bring It In Immediately
A Surface has nowhere for liquid to drain, so time matters more here than on a laptop. Same-day assessment, and you pay RM50 if we cannot save it.
Why Surface liquid damage is its own problem
A Surface is sealed far tighter than a laptop, which sounds like protection and is not: liquid that gets in has nowhere to drain and sits against the board. There is no service hatch, no removable battery, and the display is bonded — so reaching the board means the same controlled heat-and-separate process as a screen replacement. That is why this is priced as board work rather than as a clean-up.

Our Water Damage Repair Process
The assessment is same-day. The repair takes as long as the cleaning and drying need. You see the diagnosis and the price before any micro-soldering starts, and if we cannot save it you pay the RM50 and take it home.
Disassembly & Visual Inspection
The Surface is opened with controlled heat, the battery is disconnected first, and we photograph the board so you can see exactly where the liquid reached.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
The board goes through an ultrasonic bath that lifts corrosion and residue out from under components — the places wiping and air drying never reach.
Component-Level Diagnosis
We test the power rails and individual components to separate what the liquid destroyed from what merely got wet. Your quote and your odds both come from this stage.
