Proprietary components: Microsoft designs many parts specifically for Surface devices. Screens, batteries, and keyboard assemblies cannot be swapped with generic parts.
Specialised tooling: Proper Surface repair requires model-specific heat plates, suction tools, and adhesive strips. Shops without this equipment frequently crack screens during battery and motherboard access.

Common Surface Issues and What They Cost
1. Cracked Screen
The most frequent repair we see. Surface screens crack from drops, bag compression, and — in older units — swollen batteries pushing from behind. Screen-only damage is the cleanest repair.

2. Battery Swelling

3. Keyboard Not Working
Surface keyboards — both the Type Cover and Surface Laptop integrated keyboards — use a proprietary magnetic connector or integrated ribbon. Dead keys, unresponsive zones, and liquid damage are all repairable.
Cost: RM 350 – RM 600.
4. Charging Issues
Surface Pro models use the proprietary Surface Connect magnetic charging port. Surface Laptop 4 and newer added USB-C charging. Port repairs vary by model.
