Signs You Need DJI Water Damage Recovery
Recognize these symptoms? Your device may need professional repair.
Drone Fell Into Water
Crashed into pool, river, or sea — immediate action needed to prevent corrosion. Salt water is especially destructive.
Green or White Residue on Board
Visible corrosion on circuit boards after exposure to moisture or humidity — common in Malaysia's tropical climate.
Random Shutdowns or Won't Power On
Drone powers off unexpectedly or won't start — water residue is causing short circuits on the main board.

Technician Insight
If your drone lands in the sea (common at Malaysian beaches — Port Dickson, Desaru), do NOT try to turn it on. Remove the battery immediately and bring it in within 24 hours. Salt water corrosion doubles every 12 hours — early intervention can avoid board replacements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about DJI Water Damage Recovery
How much does DJI drone repair cost in Malaysia?
DJI drone repair in Malaysia starts from RM 100 for firmware recovery, RM 150-250 for motor, arm, or shell replacement on Mini and Air series, and RM 300-500 for mainboard, gimbal, or water damage work on Mavic 3/4 Pro. We provide a written quote before any repair begins. The RM150 diagnostic fee is waived in full when you approve the repair quote — no pressure.
Where can I repair a DJI Mavic or Mini drone in Kuala Lumpur?
TechFix operates a drone repair lab in Sunway (Bandar Sunway), with courier-in support for the Klang Valley and nationwide customers — courier your drone to us and we courier it back free. We specialize in DJI Mavic 3/4 Pro, Mini 3/4/5 Pro, Air 3S, Avata 2, Neo, Autel EVO, and custom FPV builds.
How long does drone repair take?
Most DJI Mini, Air, Avata, and Neo repairs complete in 2-3 days. Mavic 3/4 Pro repairs take 3-5 days. Firmware recovery is usually same-day. Full crash rebuilds and agriculture drones (DJI Agras, XAG) take 5-7 days. You receive a status update at every stage.
Do you use original DJI parts?
Yes. We source OEM DJI parts from authorized Malaysian vendors and salvaged factory units. For ribbon cables, gimbal modules, GPS antennas, and shells we use 100% original DJI components. Quality aftermarket alternatives are offered as a lower-cost option — clearly labeled so you always know what's in your drone.
Can you fix a drone that fell into the sea or a swimming pool?
Yes, and time is critical. Salt water corrodes drone boards within hours. Remove the battery immediately, do NOT try to power it on, and bring it to us within 24 hours. Our ultrasonic chemical bath plus board-level micro-soldering gives drones treated within one day the best chance of recovery.
Will I lose my flight logs or recorded footage during repair?
No. For standard hardware repairs, your flight logs stored in the aircraft and footage on your microSD card are preserved. For mainboard or NAND chip replacement work we quote data risk beforehand so you can extract footage first.
My drone got caught in a sudden Malaysian rainstorm — is it damaged?
Light rain exposure is usually recoverable. DJI drones aren't waterproof but can survive light moisture. We'll open it up, check for water ingress, and ultrasonic-clean any affected areas. Quick inspection: RM150 (waived if you approve the repair quote).
