The Galaxy A series uses Super AMOLED or PLS TFT displays depending on the model. Flagship A series phones like the A54 and A55 have better display quality and correspondingly higher repair costs.

Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip Repair Prices

Foldable phones have significantly higher repair costs due to their unique folding screen technology and limited parts availability.

Galaxy Z Fold Series

ModelInner ScreenOuter ScreenBattery
Galaxy Z Fold 3RM 2,800–3,500RM 1,200–1,600RM 400
Galaxy Z Fold 4RM 3,200–4,000RM 1,400–1,800RM 420

Galaxy Z Flip 6RM 420–550RM 2,500–3,200RM 420

Foldable screen repairs require specialist handling. Not all repair shops have the equipment and expertise for Z Fold and Z Flip repairs. TechFix Malaysia has trained technicians for foldable device repairs.

Galaxy Note Series Repair Prices

The Galaxy Note series has been discontinued (replaced by S Ultra), but many Malaysians still use these phones. Parts are available but becoming less common.

Samsung Parts: Original vs Third-Party Comparison

Parts TypeQualityPrice ImpactRecommendation
Samsung Original PartsHighest — same as factory+30–50% vs OEMBest for flagship S series
OEM Grade AVery good — matches Samsung specsStandard pricingRecommended for most repairs
OEM Grade BAcceptable for older models-15–25% vs Grade AA series older models
Aftermarket (budget)Lower brightness, colour issues-40–60%Not recommended

For Galaxy S series and Z Fold/Flip, we strongly recommend OEM Grade A or original Samsung parts to preserve display quality and S Pen functionality.

Common Samsung Repairs: What to Expect

Screen Replacement Process

  1. Diagnosis and quote — free
  2. Approved quote and parts sourcing
  3. Screen removal and adhesive cleaning

  5. Fingerprint sensor recalibration (for under-display sensors)

Battery Replacement

Samsung batteries are generally easier to replace than iPhones. Most Galaxy models are repaired within 45–90 minutes. The battery health can be checked via Samsung's built-in diagnostic or *#0228# service code.

Replace your Samsung battery when:

  • Battery drains from 100% to 0% in under 4 hours of normal use
  • Phone runs unusually hot during browsing
  • Battery swells (back cover lifts or bulges)
  • Battery capacity is below 80% (check via Samsung Members app)

Samsung Repair Tips for Malaysian Users

IP68 rating degrades over time: Samsung's flagship S series phones carry IP68 water resistance, but this rating degrades after drops and normal wear. Do not assume your Samsung Galaxy is still fully waterproof after 2+ years of use in Malaysia's rainy climate — always replace the rear adhesive after any screen or battery repair.

Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip hinge care: Foldable phones accumulate fine sand and dust in the hinge mechanism. In Malaysia's outdoor environments — pasar malam, construction sites, beaches — this is accelerated. Never use compressed air to clean the hinge yourself, as the force can displace internal components.

Avoid third-party fast chargers: Samsung's Super Fast Charging (25W/45W) protocols are designed for Samsung-certified chargers. Cheap third-party chargers claiming fast charge compatibility can cause charging port damage or accelerated battery degradation.

S Pen troubleshooting: If your Galaxy S24 Ultra or Note series S Pen has stopped registering, try a new S Pen (RM 80–150) before assuming the digitizer is failed. If a new pen doesn't work either, the in-display digitizer layer needs replacement as part of a screen assembly.

Samsung Members app battery health check: Unlike iPhones, Samsung does not show battery cycle count in standard settings. Use the Samsung Members app > Diagnostics > Battery Status for a basic health check, or dial *#0228# for voltage and capacity readings.
