Not all replacement batteries are equal. Low-quality cells from unverified suppliers often have lower-than-rated capacity, degrade quickly within months, and in rare cases can swell or overheat. MacBook battery replacements require more care than phone batteries. On newer MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models (M1, M2, M3, M4 chips), the battery is adhesive-bonded to the chassis. Our technicians are trained in the correct heat-release procedure to remove the old battery without damaging the logic board or trackpad cable. After installation, we verify the Battery Health reading shows "Normal" and the cycle count resets correctly.
A swollen battery is a safety hazard and should never be ignored. Signs include a trackpad that no longer clicks properly on a MacBook, a back cover that is lifting on an iPhone or Android phone, or a visible bulge in a laptop. Swollen lithium-ion batteries can rupture and cause fire if punctured. If you notice any of these signs, stop using the device and bring it in (or mail it in) as soon as possible.
